V15 Overview
Bajaj V15 is not just built from the metal sourced from the INS Vikrant aircraft carrier used in the 1971 war, but the nameplate too has been derived from the former. Bajaj has worked on an all new design for this 150cc commuter that lends a tough stance to V15. For power generation, a new 149.5 cc, single cylinder, four stroke engine has been employed producing decent power and torque output. It is to be noted that only the fuel tank is built from the metal of INS Vikrant which also gets a mention on the meaty tank. On feature front, the bike lags behind, but it does well in terms of performance.

Built from the metal sourced from INS Vikrant aircraft carrier, Bajaj’s new V15 commuter bike is synonymous with strength and ruggedness. The commuter bike employs a new DTS-i engine pumping out decent power output. Bajaj claims that new V15 commuter bike has been tuned to develop 25 per cent higher torque than potential rivals in the segment. Complimented by a masculine stance, Bajaj V15 gets features such as 18 inch Eurogrip tyre up front and 16 inch tyre at rear. Besides, there will be an INS Vikrant insignia on the fuel tank and a removable cowl for pillion seat. Bajaj V15 is offered in two colour options- Pearl White and Ebony Black. Available in limited units the entire bike isn’t made of the metal soured from INS Vikrant aircraft, it is just the fuel tank that uses the copiously tested metal from the aircraft carrier.

Bajaj V15 Engine specification & Transmission
For power development Bajaj has employed a new 149.5cc, single cylinder, four stroke, SOHC 2 valve, air-cooled DTS-i engine capable of generating maximum power output of 11.83 bhp at 7500rpm along with 13Nm at 5500rpm. The engine comes paired to a five-speed transmission.

Bajaj V15 Performance & Mileage
The bike does fairly well between 40 to 70 kmph, however vibrations can be felt post 70 kmph leaving the engine fatigued. Carrying out suspension duties are telescopic forks in front and twin-spring gas filled shock absorbers at rear. The gear shifting is a tad clumsy, although it isn’t all bluntly rubbery, but there is still some room for improvement here. The carburetted engine yields promising mileage of around 70 kmph which is imposing.
BajajV15 Braking & Handling
Braking power is derived from 240 dia disc unit in front and 130 dia drum brake at the back. Ride quality is good, V15 does well over potholes, thanks to the well balanced suspension. The bike handles adeptly and carries itself well around corners.
Bajaj V15 Wheels & Tyres
Tubeless tyres with multiple spokes are shod with 18 inch wheels in front and 16 inchers at rear. The tyres offer good grip on road while on the go.
